Introduction

FGVMiCC

FGV Microbial Culture Collection (FGVMiCC) was officially formed in 2012. We are located at FGV Innovation Centre (Beneficial Microbes), Bandar Enstek. We function as depositories for microorganism and as libraries that holding data on microbial materials. We provide other services such as supply, preservation and identification of microorganisms, and also providing training on the related fields.

The FGVMiCC consists of mostly bacteria and fungus cultures related to oil palm and other crops within FGV interest. Cultures from FGVMiCC are used by FGV R&D researchers who need to make sure cultures material that they are using are authentic.

The collection includes hundreds of deposits, along with morphological descriptions, culture requirements and genomic data. It is continuously expanding as a result of new accessions from the FGV research community.
